Sinosteel MECC, wholly-owned subsidiary of Sinosteel E&T, has secured an EPC general contracting contract with Liuzhou Iron & Steel Co., Ltd. to revamp its high-speed wire rod line for quality improvement. This marks another milestone of their long-term collaboration in long product rolling.
The project will comprehensively upgrade Liuzhou Steel’s existing wire rod line, covering full EPC services from design, equipment supply and installation to commissioning and final acceptance. Post-upgrade, the line’s annual capacity will hit 550,000 tons, capable of producing various high-grade wire rods and ribbed coils to meet diverse high-end market demands.
Self-developed Tech & Premium Equipment Underpin Mill Upgrade
The revamp adopts Sinosteel MECC’s proprietary RVM265 modular reducing & sizing block, laying heads and intelligent centralized control system, which simultaneously boost output and quality while cutting alloy and production costs.

Process Optimization
An 8+4 mill stand layout refines metallographic structures, strengthens finished steel and greatly reduces alloy usage.
Efficient Equipment Design
Independently driven sizing stands extend roll service life and lower power & roll consumption.
Cost & Carbon Savings
Optimized processes cut manganese content for HRB400E rebar and eliminate expensive microalloy additions such as V, Nb and Ti.
High Precision Rolling
Heavy-duty reducing & sizing blocks support stable rolling at 780°C. The compact layout shortens dimensional deviation at bar ends, reduces crop loss, raises metal yield and delivers Grade C dimensional precision.
Better Coil Quality
A stepless down coiler enables scratch-free, neatly shaped wire coils via impact-free coiling.
As China’s steel sector advances toward low-carbon, high-value and intelligent manufacturing, Sinosteel E&T’s proprietary technologies and optimized process solutions will significantly boost the mill’s dimensional precision, mechanical properties and product consistency, strengthening Liuzhou Steel’s market competitiveness.
